Role Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and driven Trainee Solicitor to join our immigration law team. This is an exciting opportunity for a law graduate to develop practical skills and expertise in immigration law. As a Trainee Solicitor, you will work alongside experienced solicitors, gaining exposure to a variety of immigration law cases and client matters.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with client casework related to UK immigration, nationality, and asylum law.
  • Conducting legal research and preparing legal documents, including applications, appeals, and submissions.
  • Attending client meetings and providing initial legal advice under supervision.
  • Managing administrative tasks such as preparing case files and liaising with third parties.
  • Developing knowledge of immigration policies and keeping up to date with legislative changes.
  • Supporting senior lawyers with more complex cases.

 

The Ideal Candidate:

  • You must have a law degree (LLB) and also possess a Diploma in Legal practice but be able to obtain an entrance certificate from The Law Society Of Scotland.
  • A strong interest in immigration law and a desire to pursue a career in this field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
  • We will also consider applicants who have completed part of their traineeship and wish to assign their contract.
