Friends Legal are a firm of solicitors with an office in the heart of Glasgow, representing clients throughout Scotland. We have specialist litigation teams in laser eye negligence, clinical negligence, dispute resolution and personal injury

The Role

Position: Full-time training contract

Title: Trainee Solicitor

Location: We operate a hybrid working model of homeworking with some fixed days to be worked in our Glasgow office (currently Tuesdays & every second Friday – subject to change).

Expected Start: As soon as possible. Ideally, you will already have passed the Diploma, or are very near to this.

The role will be varied and the successful applicant will gain experience in the following disciplines:

  • Clinical / Optical Negligence 
  • Personal Injury / ULR
  • Debt Recovery / Dispute Resolution

 

Essential skills:

  • Organisational skills with ability to priortise competing tasks
  • Strong time management skills, with ability to work on tasks independently and knowing when to seek guidance
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in writing, via telephone and in person
  • Excellent attention to detail and capable of following defined processes and procedures
  • Pleasant, confident and professional manner with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Good IT skills and a willingness and aptitude to learn a variety of systems

 

Previous experience in any of our key practice areas is desirable although not essential. We would welcome candidates who have a particular interest in any of our key practice areas.
