Senior Solicitor, Professional Practice Team, Temporary for a period of up to 14 months, £54, 828 per annum
It is an exciting time to join the Law Society of Scotland. Due to maternity leave, we have an opportunity within the Professional Practice Team for a Senior Solicitor – Temporary for a period of up to 14 months.
The Law Society of Scotland is the professional body for over 13,000 Scottish Solicitors and with over 150 staff members, our primary focus is to support a thriving profession of high quality and trusted Solicitors in Scotland with access to justice for all. The Our Professional Practice Team provide high quality advice and guidance to members on professional conduct, ethics and the Society’s Practice Rules and Guidance. This is achieved by delivering a balanced package of advice, information and reactive call handling and ensuring high standards of support for members.

Key Responsibilities for this role
To succeed in the role, you must be comfortable and confident in dealing with senior members of the profession and understand both the role the Society plays within the legal profession and the requisite standards required. You must be action-orientated, outcome focused and highly personable.
Key Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
We are seeking a passionate individual who must be innovative, self–motivating, organised and have a strong grasp of commercial drivers. They should have excellent verbal and written communication skills as they will be acting as brand ambassadors for the Society. Training and support is available for the successful candidate. The candidate will also have a current knowledge of the Society’s Practice Rules and Guidance.
You will be given autonomy and responsibility to make decisions. We expect you to take ownership of several key areas and to continually refine and improve our offering. You will be a great and passionate communicator with ability to take responsibility and make business critical decisions.
