A prominent Scottish law firm is currently recruiting an experienced Associate or Senior Associate to join its market-leading Risk, Government & Compliance team, based in Edinburgh.

Job Description

This role offers the opportunity to provide expert advice on compliance, regulatory issues, and public law, supporting a diverse range of public and commercial sector clients across Scotland and the UK, including government bodies, higher education institutions, local authorities, and regulators.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years’ PQE and can be either a Scottish or English qualified solicitor with a genuine enthusiasm for public and regulatory law. Experience in higher education, public inquiries, or judicial reviews is particularly welcomed. Responsibilities include advising clients on complex legal issues, managing relationships with key stakeholders, and supervising junior colleagues. The role also involves preparing and presenting cases before courts and tribunals, instructing counsel or solicitor advocates, and contributing to the development of the team’s profile through business growth initiatives.

This is a full-time position within a supportive and collaborative environment, offering opportunities to develop advocacy skills and specialise further in public and regulatory law. Should this role be of interest, please do not hesitate to contact either Frasia or Teddie for an initial, confidential discussion. (Assignment 16731)
