Planning Lawyer - Managing Associate/Legal Director (5+ years')

Job Description

Joining a leading Real Estate Planning team that is renowned as one of the UK's best, advising on landmark developments such as offshore wind farms, major residential schemes, infrastructure projects, airport developments, and environmental and waste projects. They handle a diverse portfolio, including complex mandates in residential, commercial, infrastructure, and environmental sectors, along with contentious work in Judicial Review and Lands Chamber proceedings.
 
Responsibilities:

• Manage large-scale development consent orders and compulsory acquisitions.
• Provide strategic planning advice and review environmental statements.
• Assist in project management and support our national real estate practice.
• Handle inquiries, examinations, and judicial reviews related to planning matters.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in planning, infrastructure, and environmental law, coupled with a genuine enthusiasm for team development. Experience in renewable energy would be advantageous.

Requirements:

• Qualified solicitor with 5+ years' PQE in a Planning team.
• Knowledge of the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997.
• Experience in planning agreements and highway agreements.
• Ability to manage inquiries, examinations, and judicial reviews in planning matters.
• Knowledge and experience of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA).
