Job Description

The professional liability team provides comprehensive support to insurers and professionals across a range of disciplines, handling all aspects of professional liability claims, commercial disputes, and associated disciplinary matters.

The team is looking for candidates with NQ-7 years’ PQE, offering positions from Junior Associate to Senior Associate level. Applicants should have a strong background in professional negligence or commercial dispute resolution, with experience in insurance matters being highly beneficial. The successful candidates will have the opportunity to work on a variety of claims for a wide range of professionals, with a particular focus on construction professionals. Exposure to Sheriff Court and Court of Session cases, as well as alternative dispute resolution (ADR), is a key aspect of the role.

Key responsibilities include:

Managing a caseload in compliance with service level agreements with insurers.
Assisting in the defence of high-value and complex claims.
Communicating effectively with clients and meeting reporting deadlines.
Conducting advocacy in the Sheriff Court and supporting ADR processes.
